Events
HSTC holds fundraising events all year round to pay for the continued care of homes pets. The following is a description of some of our events. We are always searching for ways to raise money so please feel free to share your ideas. If you would like to volunteer, sponsor or participate in any of these events, please feel free to contact us any time!
- Every Saturday from 9am – 1pm (excluding holidays), please visit the Tails and Whiskers Rummage Store located at 384 Stonewall Street Dawson, GA. Furniture, home furnishings, appliances, rugs, pictures, decorations, books and much more! Some items new, some old, some antique! Come treasure hunt with us with all proceeds benefiting the care of homeless pets! If you have items you would like to donate, we will gladly pick them up!
- Every summer, we host the HSTC Golf Classic. It is a three-man scramble format held at the Dawson Country Club on a Saturday. Entry fee includes lunch and beverages; cash prizes are awarded to placing teams along with closest to the pin and longest drive. Mulligans are for sale and door prizes drawn. This is an event that local golfers look forward to each year-we hope to see you there!
- Every summer, we host the HSTC Low Country Boil and Barbeque Rib dinner at the Dawson Country Club. Tickets are $25 per person with a discount for children. In addition to the delicious southern cuisine served, we have live music, dancing, a silent auction and door prizes. We also have sponsorship opportunities available that include free tickets, t-shirts and advertising. This is our largest fundraiser and is an anticipated event. Please make plans to join us-it is always loads of fun!
- Every fall, we host the Paws for the Cause Pet Parade. This event is for the whole family, especially for the pets! Participants pay an entry fee of $20 per family, which includes a t-shirt, for the opportunity to march their pets down the main streets of Dawson. We also include prizes for the best tricks, best costumes and even best kissers! We hope you will bring your four-legged family member to pound their paws on the pavement for homeless pets!
